Today I did some more experimenting. I had read several recommendations from the RV-List for Evercoat's Gold Rage product for filling pinholes. Matt and I went to an autoparts store and found that Evercoat had a newer product called Xtreme Rage that gauranteed to fill all pinholes and not cause more so I bought a gallon. You mix it 2% blue hardner to 98% of the white base filler substance. How do you measure 2%? The instructions recommended adding a ribbon of hardner from the toothpaste like container to a 4" round plop of base filler, so that's what I did. Definitely not a precise measurement but I'm not sure how else to do it. The stuff stinks like you wouldn't believe, and hardens within 5 minutes. It's great! Just work with the windows open! I couldn't spread all that I had mixed up fast enough before it was unworkable. The great part about this stuff is that once you smear it on, it flows out relatively smooth and fills all of the pinholes. I was able to then sand the stuff within 5 to 10 minutes. Very easy to sand and I like the color difference between the white micro and the blue Rage, which makes it easier to sand off the high spots. I think I am going to really love this stuff as a final filler!
