Brief Description: Fabricate / Prime / Rivet F-781B to Front Spar
In trial fitting the vertical stablizer to the fuselage the rear spar had a slight bow. I noticed the plans mentioned an optional F-781B spacer plate could be fabricated and riveted to the front-spar if needed. Straightening the bow in the rear spar produced about a 1/16" gap between the plate on the front spar of the vertical stabilizer and where this bolts to the front spar of the horizontal stabilizer. I decided to fabricate the F-781B spacer out of 0.063, clean with Acetone, protect with Alodine, and then prime with SW 988 primer. The F-781 plate and F-781B spacer were then riveted to the front spar of the vertical stabilizer.
