Brief Description: Install New 1/4" Ring Terminal on Ground Lead
The screws on the battery require 1/4" ring terminals but the cables that Van supplied had 5/16" terminals. They would have been fine as is but I decided to order the 1/4" terminals to replace the larger ones and do things right. Also, I originally had a welding strap running from the negative terminal of the battery to the ground stud on the firewall but I couldn't readily replace the 5/16" terminal with the new 1/4" terminal so I went back to the insulated 2awg wire that Van provided. I cut off one end using the bandsaw and then hammer-crimped a new 1/4" uninsulated ring terminal using the B&C crimping anvil. I then used some heat-shink to protect the connection and bolted the new ground from the battery to the firewall.
