Brief Description:  Install New 1/4" Ring Terminal on Positive Lead

I did the same thing with the 2awg wire for the battery positive lead - cut off the old 5/16" terminal on the bandsaw, hammer-crimp a new 1/4" ring terminal, heat shrink, and install.

I also had to redo the 1/4" terminal on the 14awg wire that feeds power to the battery buss. I didn't have the right size ring terminal initially and just drilled the largest one I had out to 1/4" but that left very little material on the ring that would have easily broken with all the vibration. So, along with my order for the 2awg 1/4" non-insulated ring terminals I picked up some blue 1/4" insulated ring terminals for 14awg wire as well.

Once the new ring terminals were installed I hooked the positive leads back up to the battery and slipped the protective boot over the stud.
