Brief Description: Drilled out rivets and positioned new hinge
My solution to the hinge problem was to get a new hinge from Aircraft Spruce, but the 2" wide version as opposed to 1-1/2" I used previously. This is because I now have holes in my skin and ribs that I must match in the new hinge. Because my problem came from having the hinge too close to the elevator, I have to move it away from the part, reducing the edge distance to an unacceptable margin. With the two inch hinge, that problem is solved. I'm now ready to get both hinges in final position, drill, cleco and rivet.
