Brief Description:  Completed stabilizer center ribs

These ribs are made with .016" 6061-T6 aluminum and are extremely light (1.4 ounces each). I was able to use the laser sighting on the drill press for my relief holes, which made it very easy and accurate. These were my first ribs to make that had curves and crimps, but no tight curve at the tip. I could get used to this kind of part. Add to that the fact that the metal is so light and easy to work with, this has to be my favorite part to make so far. Not the most challenging, but the most fun. In the course of this project, I became much more adept at using the metal snips, and I save myself a lot of clean up work by using the correct snip for the direction of cut. The rule is this: Make sure the downward acting shear is on the outside of your line, since it is the one that creates the serration.
