Brief Description:  Completed Doubler Angles and Bent Strip

In short order measured and bent the Bent Strip. Next measured and cut the .040 aluminum for the two Doubler Angles that I needed to bend. Not only was there quite a bit of resistance to bending the longer and thicker metal, but trying to bend a dual 19mm flange proved to be physically impossible in my press because the exposed flange was pushed into the brake. I decided that more material was needed for leverage, even if it produced some waste. I then determined that to produce a 19mm bend on each side of a 90mm web, I would need a developed length of 123mm. I then marked each side 17.41mm from the edge as my sight line. With the additional material to push on, I was able to bend both sides, then cut out the center material leaving two Doubler Angles that seem to be perfect.

This completes the fabrication of all my rudder parts. Now for further study of the plans and photo assembly guide in preparation for drilling and clecoing, probably this weekend.
