Brief Description:  Set canopy on 650 for the first time

Tonight I did a bunch of plan review and head-scratching. Finally decided to trim away the shrink wrap from the edges and set the canopy on the airplane. I was pleased how well it settled down onto the hoop, even though this placement is about 300mm forward of where it will probably finally end up. As you can see, the untrimmed back end forces the whole canopy forward, putting the front edge of the bubble over the firewall -- way too far forward. As the back is trimmed (with corresponding cuts to the front to keep things basically level), the whole bubble will settle down to a lower level, allowing it to overlap the side frames of the canopy system. First thing tomorrow I'm trimming a good sized chunk off the back to move it back and down.
