Brief Description: Moved carb heat muff and cabin heat valve
On a phone conversation with William Wynne several months ago, he commented on some pictures I had sent by noting that my cabin heat valve placement could lead to fuel system problems like vapor lock. It is true that hot air would likely flow over the fuel pumps, creating a problem. Tonight I removed the exhaust heat muff from the right side and removed the cabin heat valve as well. Figuring where to place the valve on the pilot side (given everything that was already in place) was a bit of a challenge, but I actually think it will work out well. It comes out right between the rudder pedals and I'll be able to run the control cable down the firewall L angle on the right side, then across the bottom and back up the L angle on the left side. Of course, I now need to get a small patch of .018" 26 gauge galvanized steel to cover the hole on the passenger side. The bigger issue is remaking the heat muff to match the flange directions required on the opposite side of the engine.
