Brief Description: Started installing engine baffle
Located and cut holes in the baffle for the exhaust pipes. This is a non-trivial task due to the fact that you almost have to guess where the holes will be because you can't get the baffle even close to its final resting place to see where the holes should be. The preceding is one way of saying my first pass wasn't quite correct so my holes are really elongated circles.
Encountered two minor issues going for the final install on the engine baffle. First, the two tabs that mount to the main engine mounting bolts were about 0.125 inches too far to the rear to meet the baffle properly and those mounting points were 8.133 inches apart vs. the 8.125 the assembly drawing called out for drilling the associated holes in the baffle after riveting two reinforcing plates in place.
Also, cut off the vagrant tab on the exhaust port in preparation for having new ones welding in their proper position.
