Brief Description: Fabricated center stack spacer and top cover.
The center stack of radios contain the GTX327 transponder on the bottom, SL-30 Nav/Com in the middle, and the GPS 496 dock on top. There is still room for something above the GPS dock but I haven't yet decided what will fit there. After fabricating the spacer that holds the panel cover, there is only about 1 1/2" of usable space. I'm thinking about annunciator/warning led lights and maybe the knob for a dimming module.
Fabricating the spacer to hold the bottom of the cover was a tedious and time consuming job. Not really difficult, just using time that I would rather had used for wiring. But it had to be done.
I'm hoping that my fat wire crimper that I ordered from Amazon comes in tomorrow so that I can finish my fat wires for the power distribution system. I decided to order a crimper to keep from running down to West Marine to crimp the big stuff while hoping that the length and clocking of the fittings are right. Onward and hopefully "Upward" in the not too distant future!!
