Brief Description: Painted instrlument panel and installed switches.
Today I set up the backyard paint booth again and painted the panel components before it got too hot. The paint mixture of black and gray came out just I had hoped, dark gray. The JetFlex paint goes on according to how much air and pressure you use. It can be thinned with up to 20% water, but I only used 10% water with enough air to make it "flat" in appearance to keep from reflecting light. The labels will have to be white to show up clearly, I think.
After allowing the paint to dry in the hot sun for a couple of hours, I decided to install the toggle switches into the switch subpanel. I was careful when tightening the nuts to not mar the painted surface. I could just see the circles around the switchs which were caused by the 9/16" socket used to tighten the nuts over the lock washer. I hope the labels will cover the antirotation holes that holds the antirotation washer, but I'll have to wait to see. It was a long day in the garage but I felt that I had accomplished quite a bit.
Painted panel dark flat gray color.
Dark gray paint contrasted with the light gray interior paint on the seat.
Switches and switch guards installed into swith subpanel.
