Brief Description: Added intercom to panel before prepping for primer
I started scuffing the panels for primer and paint and then realized I needed to drill some holes in the left panel and add the Sigtronics intercom before painting. I was planning to put it on the right side of the panel but found that it would interfere with the wiring of the drop down panel fuse blocks. No problem, there was nothing that interfered (so far that is) on the left side.
I scuffed the panels and switch subpanel and cleaned them with acetone. I'll prime them Monday and paint Tuesday if the weather cooperates. I'll be using Sherwin Williams black satin JetFlex that I will mix with the light gray JetFlex that I used to paint the interior. I want the panel to be a dark gray color to keep the glare and reflection down. The JetFlex paint is water based and safe and easy to use.
