Brief Description:  Drilled toggle switch holes into the subpanel.

I decided it was time to drill some switch holes into the subpanel before preparing the panels for painting and installing. I started with the subpanel first since it would be the cheapest to replace if I screwed it up. I'll cut the instrument cutouts on the panel plates next.

I took some engineering graph paper and made a template which I transferred to a piece of scrap skin. I figured measuring all the small measurements on the graph paper would be a lot easier than trying to do it on the aluminum directly.

Once I had it drawn, I taped it to the aluminum template piece and used the auto punch to set the points to drill. I drilled small holes into the template that I could punch through to the subplanel. I then used the drill press to drill out the switch holes with their antirotation washer holes and also drilled holes for small switch guards that I purchased from Perihelion Design. I hope that I've thought of all the holes needed, but I suspect that I have forgotten something!! If I have forgotten something it will be moved up to the panel plates. Still need to decide on the spacing of the throttle, prop, mixture, and cabin heat knobs. My hands are small but I'm sure others will fly it when it's completed. There hands may be much bigger than mine.
