Brief Description:  Started drawing on TurboCad for panel cuts.

While waiting for the filler pieces that I ordered which had stopped my progress, I decided to work on the panel plates. I had bought a commercial grade saber saw a few months ago planning to cut the panels for the instruments. The Dynon D-180 and D-100 are rectangular cutouts as are the HS-34 and AP-74 modules. I have a Rigid (hole cutting kit) that I will use for the round cutouts. I traced the advertising picture outlines onto the panel and realized that I had to have much more accuracy. I took a lot of measurements of the panel plate and used TurboCad to draw the panel. Then I drew the cutouts using the Dynon measurements. This gave me a printout with the exact distances that I needed to draw on the plate. I have also used the XPanel software to figure out my instrument layout.

I still havn't decided for sure what backup instruments I need for attitude, airspeed, altitude, and compass. I'm leaning toward the MGL Avionics AV-1 and ASX-1. I could hot wire them through a switch to the main hot battery bus.
