Brief Description:  Drilling and wiring to the tailcone.

We had to drill a hole in the F-705 bulkhead to run the remote compass wires from the EFIS's harnesses down the right canopy rail channel to reach the predrilled holes in the rear bulkheads. We used stickon tie wrap mounts to secure the wires just below the rail channel up against the lower edge of the longeron. Once we got behind the 705 bulkhead it was easy to string into the predrilled bushed holes. We used vinyl tubing to protect the wires that passed over the vertical stiffners at the spar and through the drilled hole. The cabin interior that we plan to install will hide the wiring through the seating area.

The most difficult task was drilling the hole and keeping proper 2D distance from the rivets. To get the air drill with a 3/8" bit aligned from the aft was just possible. The rubber chuck burned off some of the paint on the inside fuselage skin. Tommorrow we'll finish the wiring to the remote compasses.
