Brief Description:  Added LED warning lights and dimmer pot.

After buying the $1.99 LED lights from Radio Shack which already had the resistors to make them good for 12V, I added them to the top panel. The dimmer potentiometer was added and wired to the D-sub on the heatsink module.

I decided to check out the main bus and main hot battery bus to be sure they worked as wired. I inserted the PC 680 Odyssey battery into the FW box and hooked it up to the busses. I took one of the LED lights out of the panel and used it as a test light for the dimmer. The dimmer was wired to use both the main bus for dimming and the hot battery bus for full-intensity (non-dimiming) emergency operation. I had Charlotte check for the click on the master contactor and the LED light responded as we thought it would. It was dimmable through the main bus but not through the hot battery bus. A successful test!

Latter this evening I talked to a pilot buddy who said that the hot battery bus lights should be the ones that dim. Breaking out from an instrument approach at night with no alternator and bright interior lights would make it difficult to see out for the landing. He was right so I'm going to change the wiring to be dimmable through the hot battery bus.
