Brief Description:  Fabricated adapter for engine stand.

I had to scrounge up some 1"X2" gauge 11 rectangular tubing and a 3/8" 12"x22" steel plate. I bought the metal at Westbrook Metals here in Austin. I then needed the bolts to attach the plate to the engine stand as well as to the steel tubing to the plate. I purchased those at Austin Bolt Co. and Home Depot. With the materials in hand, all I had to do was drill holes.

I used my drill press to drill all the holes and then bolted the engine mount with the engine attached to the stand adapter. It all worked out ok so that now all I have to do to coat the internal parts with oil is to do the slow roll without hurting my back or the engine. Total cost of adapting the engine stand was approximately $100 which included the stand from Harbor Freight.

On Sept. 10 Charlotte and I are going to an Air Force reunion in Rapid City, SD. It's the 28th Air Refueling Sqaudron Reunion of all people who served between the years 1972-1979. We are looking forward to seeing old friends and crew mates. The KC-135A was the tanker that we all flew and traveled world wide as we refueled and carried passengers. Hope its cool in South Dakota!
