Brief Description: Need an alternate throttle cable FW penetration.
Today I started looking for an alternate FW penetration location for the throttle cable. I had previously cut the hole per Vans Dwg. 19 for my fuel injected TMX IO-360. I decided to add an Auxillary battery and placed it on the centerline tunnel just aft of the firewall. Unfortunately, I forgot about the penetration which would put the throttle cable right through the middle of the battery!
I'm considering going straight aft with cable from the panel to penetrate the angled part of th FW recess which I believe would just miss the prop governor. But I'm not sure if the bend in the cable would be too much to go down and under the engine. What I really need is to find someone on the Vans AF forum who has accomplished an alternate penetration location. I've searched the forum and so far all I have is a headache. Oh, well, that's what this project is all about, education on why not to get too fancy!!
