Brief Description:  Tried fitting oil cooler hoses.

While waiting a few days for help hanging the engine, I decided to try out Van's oil cooler hoses to determine if they fit for my installation. Van's long hose VA-135 fit OK for the oil cooler inlet hose. The other hose was too short no matter how I tried. Therefore, I had to have a new custom hose made for the oil cooler return. I used a hose shop that a buddy owns and he made me a hose. Turns out that it's not conductive teflon and it's too long and will hit the FW if installed. Apparently regular white teflon tube pits and seeps oil caused by static discharges produced by the flowing hot oil. Now I know!

Tom Swearengen of TSflightlines.com is going to make me a custom hose that will meet specs. It pays to do proper research.
