I started the install of the baffle kit on the #4 cylinder rear baffle. With the SW 8432R oil cooler, I knew that I would have to place it as far left as possible due to its wider profile. I also knew that I would make a doubler for the entire rear baffle because of its weight. I took measurements with the cooler sitting on the baffle. I decided to use 0.032 aluminum sheet to cover the entire rear baffle. The air hole on the baffle and doubler would be a little over 1" wider than Van's setup.
I bent the doubler sheet to match the baffle flange and cut its cylinder curve. I then match drilled the cooler bolt holes into the baffle and doubler. That was enough for the day. My mind was jumping around and I was starting to see too many holes. Tomorrow I'll cut out the air hole in the baffle and doubler.
Placing cooler to far left edge of the baffle.
Placing cooler as high as I dared on the baffle.
The air hole corners match drilled to the baffle and doubler.
