Brief Description:  Sanded, primed, and epoxied the rear skirt.

I sanded the touch-up filler and decided that it looked good enough to prime. I decided to use my HVLP sprayer in the garage so I prepared to minimize overspray on the airplane and the garage.

I opened the garage door about two feet and set up a fan blowing from the front of the airplane hoping it would evacuate out the door. I got lucky with the wind which was out of the northeast while my garage door faces the southwest. The overspray which was really very little, slipped under the door as planned. I love this water based Dupont 210S surface primer. There is no diluting, you just stir it up and put it in the sprayer. I wear my respirator whenever I spray anything but this stuff seems very safe. I put on two coats after letting the first coat dry for about 10 minutes at about 85 degrees in the garage.

After letting the primer dry for about three hours, I did a light sanding with 220 and 400 grit sandpaper. I then mixed up some expoxy (without any filler this time) and rolled on a thin coat which left some bubbles caused by the foam roller. I removed the roll from the roller and dragged it (no rolling motion) over the skirt to remove the bubbles and it seemed to have worked fairly well. There were still a few small bubbles but I had to quit as the epoxy started doing its thing. They should sand out ok, tomorrow.
