Brief Description:  Worked on side skirt and drilled out canopy holes.

We primed the rear skirt with two coats of surface primer and will let dry for a day before we sand again.

In the meantime, I decided to finish drilling out the side skirt holes to the proper size for riveting and screwing the side screws (#6) to the plexiglass. I machine countersunk the holes that will be riveted to the side bow on the frame and dimpled the others. The side bow holes take MK-319B rivets so I drilled them out to #32. The top row of holes on the side skirt take the #6 screws and after dimpling the #30 holes the screws went through OK. The inside C-759 holes were drilled out to #28 to take the #6 screws. The bottom role of holes were dimpled using the #40 dimple for flush AN426AD3-3.5 rivets which will be sqeezed with the hand squeezer. The MK-319B rivets are pop rivet.

Charlotte climbed into the cockpit to push with a wooden block while I drilled out the side plexiglass holes to 3/16" instead of the 5/32" called for on the plans. I don't want the screws to touch the plexiglass when it expands and contracts with the temperature. These holes were then countersunk on the outside and deburred on the inside. One hole had a small crack that I will glue with Weld-On and hope for the best.
