Brief Description: Sanded and drilled getting ready for riveting.
I sanded the rear skirt to 400 grit and found no pinholes! After removing the #4-40 screws from the canopy and rear bow and then clecoing the side skirts back on, I clecoed the rear skirt back on the canopy and drilled through the skirt, canopy, and rear bow to 1/8". I also drilled the center bow and front bow to 1/8". The front bow cover strip that I fabricated was also drilled to 1/8". It will be dimpled before riveting.
I removed the canopy plexiglass and drilled all the remaining holes to 3/16". I found another hole with a small crack that will also be glued. The front canopy holes were countersunk to accept the cover strip that I fabricated. The rear canopy holes do not need countersinking but the rear fiberglass skirt will be countersunk to accept #6 Tinnerman countersunk washers. All the canopy holes were deburred on the inside. The center bow canopy holes were drilled out to 3/16" and countersunk to accept the countersunk top cover strip.
Too much drilling and countersinking for one day, I need a drink!!
