Brief Description: Installed doubler and swivle eyeball pass throughs
We modifed the fuel fitting doubler and moved the throttle hole up slightly to avoid the doubler on the inside that came with the QB fuselage for a facet fuel pump that we won't use because we have fuel injection. We installed the eyeball swivle fittings for the throttle, mixture, and prop but left out the eyeballs until I drill them out slightly to fit the cables. The eyeball backplate acts as a small doubler to increase strength because of the large 1 1/8" hole for the eyeball. The hole saw kit worked great but we had to be careful because the screw holes are very close to the hole.
We then riveted the doubler and installed the 90 degree bulkhead fitting which used a large round aluminum spacer next to the firewall.
Working in the garage on these 100+ degree days is not too bad. We open the door into the house and use a strong fan to suck air conditioned air into the garage. At 103 degrees outside we had a high of 86 degrees inside with a good breeze. On the other hand, the plants outside need a daily drink from the hose.
Penetrations close together.
The eyeballs are left out for the time being until I drill them out slightly.
