Brief Description: Riveted AP pitch servo bracket to rib.
Today I drilled out four rivets from the F-728 rib to allow the pitch servo bracket to fit flush to the rib. I clamped the bracket to the rib and then backdrilled the bracket through the rivet holes. After clecoing the bracket to the rib, I drilled through the bottom flange and the floor skin. Charlotte deburred the bracket holes and scuffed it for priming which I did with a rattle can of self-etching primer out in the back yard.
We used the pneumatic squeezer on the AN470AD4-5 rivets but had to use the rivet gun and bucking bar on the bottom flange. Charlotte held the bucking bar while I sat on the floor after rotating the fuselage 45 degrees on the rotisserie. I used a deburring tool to countersink the skin for the AD426AD3-4 flush rivets. The actual riveting went fast with all the time used in the preparation.
