Brief Description: Begin Dynon AP pitch servo installation.
Before proceeding with installing the elevator pushrod in the tunnel, I decided to install the pitch servo of the Dynon autopilot. The setup kit comes with a bracket that must be riveted to the F-728 rib behind the F-706 bulkhead. I must remove four rivets to allow the bracket to fit flush against the rib and then rerivet the bracket to the rib as well as rivet the bottom bracket flange to the floor skin.
I drilled a hole in the elevator bellcrank to connect the pushrod that is attached to the servo actuator arm. The bolts, washers, and nuts are provided in the kit. I bolted the servo to the bracket to check for fit and to determine where the bracket must be riveted to the rib. The servo pushrod came already tapped with threads for the rod ends with the jam nuts. Tommorrow we will rivet the bracket to the rib.
