Brief Description:  Continue install gear mounts.

I had removed the mounts, therefore, I decided to clean all the holes that would be taking a bolt. This also included the wing attach bolts that bolt into the mounts. I used a round file to clean the painted holes until all the various bolts would fit. I deburred and primed the bare metal holes and then reinserted the mounts and bolted them tightly with three bolts.

I then backdrilled the forward tube support through its prepunched holes on the pad flange into the fuselage. Unfortunatly, only one hole was accessable, the other was behind a vertical strengthener. I drew some parallel lines on the outside of the fuselage using some lower longeron rivets on the QB to position the other hole. I drilled it with good success and suprised myself. These two holes had to be machine countersunk from the outside to accept the flush bolts. The other 5 holes were drilled through empty riviet holes through the fuselage skin into the mount flange. The 4130 steel mounts ate my cheap Chinese 3/16" bits, so I had to run to Home Depot to get a couple of Dewalt bits to finish the job. Again, I had to unbolt and remove the mounts to deburr, prime the bare holes, and vacuum out the drilling chips from the fuselage and clean the floor. It's part of the job, but what a pain!
