Brief Description:  Painted cockpit and baggage area.

The decision to paint now was made because I thought it would be easier to do while everything was still wide open. From now on I'll have to be careful to not scratch the paint while working. It should be any easy paint to touch up with a small soft brush.

I lightly scuffed up the Quick Build interior primer (Sherwin-Williams P60 G2) with a fine Scotch Brite pad and then wiped it down with the Aqua Mate wash. The HVLP sprayer did not spray correctly until I cleaned the nozzle tip very good. The rotisserie allowed me to rotate the fuselage to get a good angle to spray the floors and side walls. I put two good coats on and then increased the air to put on a little texture. I hope I didn't add too much texture. I then had to deconstruct my garage paint booth to get Charlotte' s car back in after spending 5 days outside.

Painting is not really that difficult but the preparation and cleanup is a pain. The water reducilble Jet Flex interior paint and the Aqua Mate wash is really easy to work with and it makes the whole process much safer. No explosion proof fans and no deadly fumes. Just use a good respirator with a particulate and organic vapor filter. I bought a 3M half-face mask (7000 Series) with a 6001 filter for organic vapor and a P95 for aerosol particulates. The filters mate together as a unit when they are installed on the mask.
