Brief Description:  Fit left gear leg socket and modified side rails.

I had to enlarge the oval hole in the forward fuselage bottom skin for the left gear leg socket to fit it against the spar and fuselage skin. A couple of nutplates on the top spar flange make for a tough time getting the gear socket into place. A rubber mallet and holding my mouth just right, and all of a sudden it slips into place. Getting it out is just as tough. That's as far as I'm going for now. Just had to make sure they would go into place as they will be installed later.

Checking off items on the QB, I came to the canopy side rail decks and gussets. The QB came with gussets for the tip-up canopy but mine is the sliding canopy. I, therefore, had to trim the gussets that fit under the aft canopy decks. A cut-out of 2" radius was accomplished with the hole cutter, the die grinder, and a carbide burr. Thanks goodness I ordered those hole cutters and burrs! I also had to drill 3 more holes and countersink them in the gusset to join it with the upper longeron. My compressor got a workout today. The die grinder and cutting burrs use a lot of air and causes a lot of shop vacuuming on the QB, floor, and me. Tommorrow, we'll finish riveting the aft deck side rail to the gusset, the upper longeron, and the F-705 bulkhead.
