Brief Description:  Temporarily installed rudder pedal assembly.

Today Charlotte and I temporarily installed the rudder/brake pedal assembly to match drill the supporting plastic blocks to the upper forward fuselage longerons. We attached the pedals to the rudder tube structure and drilled the pedal side plates for the master cylinders after aligning the pedals as per Dan Checkoway's method. Thanks, Dan for all your pictures and web site help. We drilled mutilple holes for multiple positions for the rudder assembly position. We are short folks and believe the holes farthest aft are the ones we'll use. Tommorrow we'll attack the rudder support brace that comes off the firewall stiffner and attaches toward the middle of the tube assembly.

The ordered carbide burrs were delivered on Monday, so I finished the oval holes on the bottom skin of the forward fuselage for the landing gear sockets. They worked great in the die grinder, but be sure you have eye protection as they throw small metal chips everywhere. We used face plates to cover our eyes and face. The shop vac did a good job of cleaning up the micro sized chips of aluminum off the fuselage and floor.
