Brief Description:  Fitted flap end blocks to F-705 assembly.

We rounded up the plastic flap end blocks to drill and fit to the F-705 assembly. The flap acuating rod is held by the blocks at each end while the blocks are held to the assembly by two bolts. I drilled the first bolt hole on the right side block using the drill press per the drawing dimensions. I then bolted the block on the aft of the F-705 bulkhead assembly and marked the second hole. I removed it and drilled again using the drill press hoping the second hole would fit right. It worked great and the right side block bolts fit perfectly.

Of course, I was not so lucky on the left side block. The second hole drilled was slightly off the hole center even though I had marked it when it was bolted in. Instead of redrilling the block and causing a loose fitting bolt, I filed out the bulkhead bolt hole slightly using a rat tail file and the bolt slipped right in. The word "perfect" should never be used when building anything!!

I studied the drawings while checking off the items in the plans manual that had been completed on th QB, but found a few holes without rivets, etc. I marked the manual with a question mark and continued. I'll go back later to get the definitive answer. Meanwhile, I finally came to the point where I must add the optional steps for the RV-7A. First I removed the baggage floor panels by drilling out the pop-rivets that had been installed and then started studying the instructions for installation. I'll save that for another day.
