Brief Description: Started riveting the forward top skin.
We borrowed some rivets from our tech counselor, Seth Hancock, to start the riveting. We'll repay him when our rivets arrive.
. We first riveted the top skin across the top of the FW using the hand squeezer to rivet the Skybolt cowl flanges in place with the top skin across the top and down the sides to just past the side ribs. The middle rib will be bucked from the inside with me on my back.
Next we riveted the side ribs with Charlotte using the rivet gun while standing on a ladder while I bucked standing on the floor beside her.
We then pop-riveted with Monel rivets over the instrument panel. We'll finish the job next week when our rivets arrive. It's supposed to be over 100 degrees next week, ARRGH!!
