Brief Description:  Worked on nose wheel pant brackets.

We are back from Florida and had great weather while we wer there, but tropical storm Debbie is moving in with a lot of rain.

The nose wheel pant brackets require nutplates that go on arms that are bent at angles for the compoud curve fiberglass pant. You can't clamp to any flat surface, so you must hold with one hand while drilling with the drill press or hand drill. It was very annoying but somehow, using Charlotte's hands to help hold, I got all the holes drilled. I then used a piece of plywood with a notch to allow me to clamp while I machine countersunk flush rivet holes with the hand drill. I put the brackets in the vise and used the hand squeezer to rivet the nutplates using clecos. Nothing in this project is easy and straight forward. I guess that's why not too many people build airplanes, even from kits like this one.
