Brief Description: Installed main gear legs and wheels.
Today Charlotte and I installed the main gear to the fuselage gear mounts. The only thing difficult about doing this was to get the fuselage high enough to insert the gear legs from below. We used a floor jack with a box frame that I had built to put under the fuselage while working inside the fuselage when it was connected to the engine stands for rotation. We raised it 35" from the floor and then blocked it up with a saw horse and wooden blocks.
We then let out most of the air from the tires. I inserted the legs with Charlotte standing on a small ladder holding the AN bolt. I had marked a line on the end of the leg showing the angle of the drilled hole. While holding the leg sitting on the floor, she gave me up/down-twist left/right orders until the hole was aligned with the mount holes and then she inserted the bolt. Once both legs were installed, I added the nut to the bolts and torqued them to 90 in-lbs and it was done. No sweat, easy!
