Brief Description:  Drilled holes for connectors and wire passage.

I finally decide that I would mount the two 8 position terminal blocks back-to-back on the seat rib (F-716-R) just inboard of the right side fuselage rib and just under the forward edge of the riveted seat pan. I had received two AMP CPC round 16 pin connectors that will be used to wire the Infinity stick grips. The connectors will be installed in a hole drilled into the rib just behind the crotch strap plates and to the right of each stick.

The male portion with pins will hold the wires to the left of the rib while the female part will hold sockets to the right side of the rib. The two are connected with a femal screw that connects to the male part which penetrates the rib through the hole. The connector will be rigid on the rib due to a large O-ring that I placed between the rib and the female screw which locks with a detent at the proper pin/socket engagement. The female screw and the O-ring are in compression against the rib which holds the connector tight in the rib hole.

I drilled wire passage holes into the seat ribs (which became a nightmare) about 3" behind the forward edge of the riveted seat pan. I used a 90 degree drill with 1/4" bits, followed by a 1/2" countersink bit, followed by two different size unibits, and finally ended up with 5/8" holes for snap bushing after using a conical stone in the 1/4" high speed die grinder. They were drilled (5 holes) from the pilot's side across the tunnel to the next to the last rib on the copilot's side. If I hadn't had a rotating fuselage, I think it would have been impossible, at least for me!! Oh, my back!!!
