Brief Description:  Prepping wingtip for installation

Darwin Barrie wrote up a "Tips for Tips" guide on the VAF forum decscribing his proceedures for installing the wingtips on an RV-7. Thanks Darwin, your help was greatly appreciated!

I taped the left wingtip to the wing and determined that I needed to trim the tip to 18/32" from the joggle/skin juncture to the edge of the wingtip. I measured and taped the line that I needed to sand down to and then went out to the front lawn with my sawhorses. A nice day and no mess in the garage. I used some course sandpaper and rubber sanding block and quickly sanded down to the taped line.

Next comes the cut to remove enough at the aft of the tip to give a gap between the aileron and wingtip of 3/16" - 1/4". I took the measurements today but will do the cutting and sanding tomorrow.
