Brief Description:  Continued empennage work.

With Charlotte's help today, we attached the rudder tail light to the rudder bottom enlosure and clecoed it to the rudder in preparation for pop- riveting later. I then bolted the rudder to the V-stab with Charlotte handing me bolts and washers lightly glued to the nylock nut. With the nut and washer taped into a 3/8" box end wrench and a ratching box end wrench on the bolt, I accomplished the task while standing on a six foot step ladder for the top bolt.

I had ordered the rudder cable (fuselage exit) fairings from Avery Tool, so we decided to attach them using CS4-4 pop-rivets. I trimmed them to keep from covering the screw on the outside that holds the adel clamp around the protective plastic tube inside the fuselage. Charlotte taped and held the fairings while I match drilled pilot holes. She then clecoed them to the fuselage and I finished the match drilling. After temporarily attaching the cables to the rudder, we decided we'd had enough for the day. Tomorrow I'll either dimple or countersink the fairings and then pop-rivet them to the fuselage.
