Brief Description: Started installing rudder bottom enclosure.
Today I started installing the figerglass enclosure at the bottom of the rudder. I measured and cut the slots for the rudder cable arms. When I put the enclosure on the rudder I realized it also had to be trimmed along the top edge since it protruded about 3/4" inches below the tailcone skin. The slot cuts were made using a Dremel fiberglass cutoff wheel. The wheel cuts about a 1/8" kerf so one has to allow for it or you'll cut too much.
I finished pulling the wires for the Aveo rudder light which is a white position light and strobe all in one. It takes four wires which includes the ground wire. Tomorrow I'll pull it through the final two bulkheads after I determine whether I'll drill a hole or not into the aft bulkhead. I think there might be just enough room between the tie down plate and the hole at the bottom of the aft bulkhead to pull the wires through. We'll see tomorrow.
