Brief Description:  Pulled rudder cables.

Today I attached the lower aluminum fairings below the horizontal stabilizer after drilling out the prepunched holes to #27 and dimpling them for the #6, AN507-6R8 screws.

Next item was the rudder cables. I pulled the rudder cables by inserting them into the aft fuselage slits. I crawled into the tailcone and pulled the cables with the snap bushing pushed over the rudder pedal end fitting. I used 16 snap bushings to go through all 8 bulkheads and the wing spar holes.

I then climbed out and attempted to install the adel clamps around the 5 1/2" plastic tubes that protect the cable going through the aft fuselage slits. It took several attempts and a lot of cursing. My arms were just barely long enough while standing on a step stool. I had to reach into the tailcone and place the adel clamps around the tube and then add the washer and nut by feel, while using a phillips srewdriver on the outside by feel to start the washer and nut. I also had to keep the adel clamp compressed by feel. The adel clamp was held by a #8 AN509-8R8 screw with its washer and nut. As I said, a lot of cursing while dropping the washer and nut and a lot of time wasted. I hate Adel clamps!! The next time I'll wait until I have a helper.
