Sent out email to members of EAA chapter 187 to see if anyone had a leading edge rib for the wing kit that I could trace. I had many responses from the members. Everything from that I didn't need a cradle to offers to trace the end of their wing. Luis Orozco in Leander, TX said that I could trace a rib from his kit that he hadn't put together yet. Charlotte and I stopped by his house on Sunday and he let me trace the rib and measure the width of the main spar. I finished the cradle the next day.
Traced the leading edge rib onto the MDF end plate and then cut out using my saber saw. I used a wood file to smooth out the cuts and then put the rubber material that keeps carpet from sliding on floors in the cutouts.
I cut out the main spar notches on the other end plate and covered them with old carpet.
Turned the whole structure upside down and added four 1 1/2" casters which really helps moving the wings around in my tight garage.
