Yippee, clouds and rain are on the way and the temp should max out in the low 90's today! Today I sanded, primed, and painted the canopy bow band using Rustoleum metallic silver. Looks nice but it may get scratched a bit when closing the canopy under the hood strip. I also sanded the inside surface of the hood and painted it gray using the Jet Flex paint that I used to spray the cockpit. I had to do another tape job on the roll bar, but I used a foam brush to apply the paint. I put on two coats but may have to add another coat when it drys completely.
I checked my engine cylinders to determine if my ECI cylinders are part of an AD from 2009. There are so many numbers on the cylinders and heads that I could not determine what was what. I'll have to call ECI to figure it out. To make matters worse, Mattituck Services who built my TMX IO-360 engine was closed last year. Continental Motors, who had owned Mattituck Services, said they would cover the warranty on my engine. Continental Motors is now owned by a Chinese company, AVIC. I hope this rolling ball ends up with someone who keeps their word if I have any warranty problems!!
The canopy band just in front of the black tape was painted silver.
Yep, the canopy closed OK.
The inside edge of the hood strip was painted gray.
