Today I concentrated on sanding the edges of the layup around the front and over the top of the windshield. There were six layers of electrial tape around the front and seven layers over the top. The layers repeat the colors red, yellow, and black. The last two layers will be yellow and then red next to the skin and plexiglass. I sanded down to the last two layers of tape over the top and down to the last four layers around the front.
I'm wearing a long sleeve shirt, a respirator, glasses, and a face shield while sanding. I don't want to inhale the glass particles or get them on my skin. The temp in the hangar today reached 95 degrees before I stopped sanding. I consumed two and a half 16 oz. bottles of water and a 12 oz. bottle of Gatorade.
I won't go to the hangar tomorrow because it is July 4. We'll go to a ranch in New Braunsfel, TX to visit friends and eat brisket, and apple pie with ice cream. May even drink a beer and consume a lot of water. It will be hot!!
