Brief Description:  Filling and sanding the windshield.

After arriving at the hangar this morning we quickly peeled off all the peel ply and found a nicely cured layup. We then proceeded to unlock the canopy, but it would not move at all. We thought that we might have bonded the canopy to the windshield. Using chip chasers, putty knives, and a hack saw blade, we worked three hours to finally pull back the canopy. What a relief!!

We removed the tape from the edges of the plexiglass and "hood" over the windshield. We then trimmed it about 3/8" using the Dremel tool. After sanding the trimmed edge of the hood and the edges at the windshield/skin, we mixed some expoxy and beads to fill in low spots and some voids. We will sand the filler tomorrow after it is cured and then add some more and continue the sanding. You know the drill, fill, sand, fill, sand, etc.
