Brief Description:  Riveted, Superfiled, & visited with windshield adv

While waiting to visist with the windshield expert advisor today, Charlotte and I riveted some empty rivet holes on the side of the QB fuselage that had been left open for the tip-up canopy. We built a slider canopy so we pop-riveted some holes that couldn't be reached with the bucking bar. We later use the rivet gun and bucking bar on the remaining holes.

Charlotte appiled some low density filler to the elevator weights and I put some Superfil on the rudder mass balance area to flush it up to the aluminum. We'll sand them tomorrow.

Marcus, the windshield expert came by and gave us a lot of tips on how to lay up the fiberglass on the windshield. He also told us that our fit was not that bad, and that all we had to do was position three clips at the middle and on both sides of the plexiglass lower edge to hold it close to the nose skin. Then use some flox on the plexi edge to keep it attached to the skin as we do the fiberglass layup around the lower edge.

I felt relieved that I would not have to cut off any more plexiglass and drill new holes to attach it to the roll bar. Now, on with the windshield project!!
