Brief Description:  Sanded elevator weights & sealed FW.

I sanded the elevator mass balance weights and will need to touch up the job with a little low density filler later. Sanding the Superfil was much easier than sanding the fiberglass bubbles that we used on the wheel pants. It smells much better too.

I brought a caulking gun to seal the stainless steel foil all around the FW, but first I sealed around the perimeter with some aluminum tape. I did this to get right up to the FW flange. The SS foil was not right up to the flange and I could see the ceramic insulation, so the aluminum tape
closed that small gap. I then used Biotherm silicone based sealant to seal around the perimeter of the FW. It's gray in color and smells like clay to me. The caulking gun was a little awkward to position, so I used my gloved finger to spread it in the hard to reach places. I'll see how it sets up in this 98 degree heat. I took the tube of sealant home with me to put in the refrigerator since it said not to store above 90 degrees once opened.
