Brief Description: Prepping to install the wings for naught.
On Monday I started preparing to install the wings. I gathered all the tools that I would need into one handy small tool box. I made marks on top of the wing spars on the first top hole that would align with a mark on the carrythrough spar hole. This would make it easier to get the holes aligned to tap a drift pin in that hole and get things matched up for the interference bolts. My hangar neighbor Jerry came over to ask me what I was doing today, and I told him. He said to give him a yell when I needed help tomorrow and then left for the day.
About 3:00PM my cell phone rang and it was Jerry. He said that he thought I would be much better off if I delayed the wing install until I had riveted on the top forward skin and installed the windshield. I immediately realized that he was right and thanked him for the call. Walking around and on top of the wings to rivet the top skin would have been a lot of effort and work. I rolled the wing cradle back to its corner of the hangar.
