Brief Description: Sanded on oil filler door install and riveted righ
After a cup of coffee with my hangar neighbor, Jerry, I decided to sand some more on the cowling recess for the oil filler door. The door's bulge above the cowling was greatly reduced by adding the shims between the door hinge and cowling, but by sanding around the recess I hoped to get it to lay flatter still. An hour of sanding helped a smidgen, but no great improvement, so I stopped while I was ahead. I figure a little glass-bead filler in the right place will solve the problem.
I proceeded to rivet the right inlet assembly only to find that the squeezer could reach only about half the holes to be riveted. I did rivet the right forward baffle onto the assembly and then tried to fit back on the engine. It went on, but barely. I need "Charlotte-the-rivter" to help me finish the assembly while I hold the bucking bar. We'll finish the job on Sunday, I hope.
