Brief Description: Riveting baffle clips on forward baffles and inlet
Today was spent riveting. We finished riveting the right inlet ramp with it's conical gusset and angle clip. The left inlet ramp clips were also fabricated and riveted. Sounds easy but there were complications abound. How to get the squeezer positioned to crimp was a problem. We used pop-rivets in places we could not squeeze or use the rivet gun and bucking bar.
The right inlet clip-to-forward baffle defied our attemps to use the squeezer so we used pop-rivets. I don't like how it worked so we'll drill out those rivets and then remove the ring gear and try again, this time using either the squeezer or rivet gun and bucking bar. We'll attempt the reriveting on Tuesday. Nobody said it would be easy!
