Brief Description: Riveted nutplates to wheel pants.
Yesterday we glued the interface fairings to the main wheel pants. This morning we riveted the eight nutplates to the main wheel aft pants that hold on the fore pants using #6 screws. We finally placed the wheel pants aside to work on something else for a change. We attacked the forward baffles and the inlet ramps.
We had to make a conical gusset to place between the right side baffle and the inlet ramp. Forming the 0.032 sheet aluminum by working it over the edge of a work bench was difficult and it took over an hour to produce something that looked right. We drilled four #30 holes into the gusset and then marked the holes onto the ramp after removing it from the engine. The holes will be drilled after riveting the left ramp assembly together. I'll tackle that job tomorrow.
